Disneyland

Yesterday we went to Disneyland. I was totally excited and for the first time in years (since I was like 10 and under) I decided I wanted pictures with the characters :) I got a handful of them. Sadly I missed the princesses but I’m going to see if I can’t catch them on Friday when were’re going again (we got complimentary tickets).

Princess Tiana told me I had a lovely accent (used me more British one the entire day at Dinsey) and Tinkerbell asked if I was mad :P

Disneyland started out good. We went on the ‘The Pirates of Caribbean’ ride and then through the French Quarters to ‘Splash Mountain’. At Splash they had a technical problem to we stood at the gates waiting to go into the logs that carry you around the attractions for about 20 mins. We got to see the ride without music and no people on it. Creepy! So when we finally got on I had decided to film portions of the ride. Now Splash is a water-ride. Water-ride + electronics = iffy. I was in the front and I didn’t remember that first fall inside becoming so wet. Anyway, my camera ended up being soaked and shut down for the entire ride. I managed to dry it off when we got out and it started working again, thank you thank you thank you! I got really scared there for a few moments.

Another thing happened while we were at Disney. We were at California Adventure (the second theme park) on the attraction MaliBoomer when there was a 5.4 earthquake. We didn’t feel it because we were in the air on the attraction. It was just about to go up when a bell chimed and we got hissed down. After that every single attraction in the theme parks got shut down to undergo check-ups. Took a few hours before they got up and running again. Though the light show got cancelled but since they had kept handing out FastPass tickets and dad and I had gotten one each dad headed for Guest Relations when we found out all the ‘Water of Color’ shows had been stopped. It was a LONG line. We ended up with free tickets for Friday so we can see the light show (if it’s on again). So we’re spending a whole day at Disney again tomorrow complimentary of the park. :)

Last Hawaii post

By command of the master (aka dad) ;) Nah, he asked nicely and it made him happy. This is the last Hawai’i post. We say goodbye to that part of our holiday and rejoyce in the quiet time that has come. Well, as calm as Hollywood can be haha

Last Hawaii Photos, and hello LA

It’s been a couple of days since my last entry. We went to the Big Island of Hawai’i (also named Hawai’i) and the hotel only had wi-fi in the lobby so I spent my evenings in the pool instead of blogging. Sorry guys :P
Two days ago we arrived in Hollywood, Los Angeles, CA. Felt a bit like coming home. Know this part of town like the back of my hand. It was on July 1st that my vacation really started haha Our schedule has been really busy but now dad and I are enjoying some down time. Today we went shopping. Bought some DVDs and clothes for Julia. They have so much cute stuff for little girls <3 Tomorrow is 4th of July. Dad and I have plans. We're going to the Farmers Market in the morning and in the evening we’re going to a 4th of July BBQ at our friends’ house.
Then one of the days I’m dragging dad to Disneyland. Other then that, no plans. Well, if you don’t count in going to the cinema and seeing ‘Toy Story 3′, ‘Shrek Forever After’ and ‘Sex and the City 2′ ;)

Have you ever seen a Dwarf Pineapple?

Aloha!

I’ve been enjoying a place called Hawai’i. I’ve been swimming, snorkeling, shopping, sightseeing. Just been having a nice time :)
We’ve been to PCC (Polynesian Cultural Center) and to Paradise Cove Luau on O’ahu. We also flew to Lana’i and to Moloka’i. Tomorrow we’re flying to the Big Island of Hawai’i and staying in Hilo for a few days. After that it’s LA baby!

PCC shows you the culture of the islands of Fiji, Tahiti, Hawaii, Samoa, Aotearoa (New Zeeland) and Tonga

I’m in Waikiki,Hawai’i. I’ve just eaten breakfast and now Im waiting for the Pink Trolley to start so I can go to Alamoena Shopping Center. In the mean time I thought I’d upload the (silent) video I tried to save and upload yesterday before my program froze on me. We had a great time driving around. Got images of the Golden Gate Bridge and some clothes for Julia :)

Going down Lombard Street

We drove all day yesterday. I got a video driving down Lombard Street for you. I had one of our roadtrip down to San Mateo and back to San Fransisco but Windows Movie Maker decided to freeze and mess up the movie I made so I have to make it again which I don’t have time for right now. Have to get ready because we’re going to the airport soon to catch our flight to Hawai’i.

on the road (today)

I’m off soon. Dad rented a car so we’re going to drive around the bay and then over the Golden Gate Bridge and over to San Mateo and maybe down to Half Moon Bay. Haven’t been there in years. Ate a big breakfast so I will be good till lunch. My friend Sara started taking pictures of her dishes last year when we were in Belgium. I’m now making use of it :)

More pictures of my food. Pizza and pasta dishes have gone unphotographed and my ice-cream have you been too delicious hehe

the san fransisco bay

I didn’t feel like posting last night. My dad had arrived and we got back to the hotel quite late so all I wanted to do was sleep :P
I went over to Alcatraz yesterday. It looked pretty much like it did the last time I was there a couple of years ago. Some things were different. I could venture out in the recreational yard this time. It was so windy out there. When I got past the walls and into the garden it was so beautiful. I got a magnificent view of the Golden Gate Bridge.

Today I’m going to walk around Chinatown. Gonna buy Julia a cute chinese outfit. Similar to the one Alina got when she was a toddler but purple. Alina got a red one. I’m also going to get some photos of cable cars today if I can remember it. Tomorrow dad promised we could get a car and drive to Presidio and get close-ups of the Golden Gate and drive over it and up in the hills and get a city view with the Golden Gate.

hello san fransisco

I arrived in San Fransisco, CA on Saturday afternoon. Feels like it has been longer haha So far I’ve been walking around town (didn’t remember the streets being so steep!) and took the ferry to Sausalito. I’ve also gotten myself a nasty burn around my neck and on my arms. That’s what I get for wearing a dress.

Chinatown is like it always have been. I don’t think anything has changed since I was there last. Neither had Pier 39. Been eating there two days in a row. Love Luigi’s :) Today I’m gonna by myself a Mad Hatter hat at the pier. It’s so cool! Little bit brighter then the one in “Alice In Wonderland” but it’s awsome. Also on the itinerary today is Alcatraz. I’m gonna buy Julia one of those pretty back and white prison outfits. They had the cutest dresses in that pattern. The text on it reads – Rejected, Too cute.
